From 20 students in two classrooms to thousands of aspiring legal professionals, Neertha Law Academy has grown with one purpose—to give students the knowledge, preparation, and guidance they need to build their future in law.
Neertha Law Academy began in 2009 with just 13 students in Nugegoda and 7 students in.
From those first 20 students, Neertha grew across Sri Lanka through Sinhala and English medium education, exam-focused teaching, modern tutorials, books, and new ways of making legal education accessible.
Over the years, Neertha became one of the pioneers of online law classes while continuing to prepare students for the Sri Lanka Law College Entrance and Open University LLB Entrance examinations.
More than a decade later, our classrooms may be bigger and our learning methods may have evolved—but our purpose remains the same: help serious students move closer to their ambitions in law.

My own journey began with a strong desire to enter the legal profession. After completing my A/Ls in the Commerce stream, I faced the Law Entrance Examination and entered Sri Lanka Law College.
While I was still a second-year Law College student, I founded Neertha with a clear purpose: to give aspiring students the right methodology and guidance to successfully prepare for Law Entrance.
In 2011, I achieved my own dream of becoming an Attorney-at-Law. Since then, my journey as both a lawyer and an educator has strengthened one belief: with honest effort, dedication, and the right guidance, students can move much closer to the goals they set for themselves.
Neertha has therefore always aimed to go beyond the classroom—from standing up for the rights of law entrance students to making educational support more accessible through online learning, digital resources, YouTube, mobile technology, and free learning initiatives.
My commitment remains the same as when Neertha began: to give aspiring legal professionals the guidance they need to pursue this respected profession with confidence.

Neertha’s teaching approach has evolved through years of working directly with law entrance students. We focus on making difficult subjects understandable, giving students opportunities to practise, and being available when they need guidance.
Neertha’s history includes students achieving 1st Place in the Sinhala Medium Law College Entrance Examination in both 2018 and 2019, together with 2nd and 5th Places in the English Medium examination in 2019.
The academy’s original records also highlight its strong history of students successfully progressing through the Open University LLB Entrance Examination.
